A pageant was held to raise funds for Graceyn's treatments- and the belle of the ball felt a little sad that she couldn't spin and twirl like her sisters and the other contestants. So a sweet friend turned Graceyn's wheelchair into Cinderella's coach. Graceyn said she felt like Cinderella going to the ball!!

Graceyn hit her head on the back of the passenger side front seat during the accident. It is an absolute miracle that she did not have a head injury. It was also revealed that her spinal cord was stretched, not torn or cut.

Sorry it has taken me a while to post. I have several pictures of Holly and Graceyn that are being scanned so that I can put them on this blog. Can't wait!

I'm also pleased to tell you, if you haven't heard, Graceyn and Holly WALKED at church the other night. Holly without help, Graceyn with her braces. Such an awesome sight.... we serve a MIGHTY, AWESOME, POWERFUL LORD, amen?

Also, it has come to my attention that the frozen meals that the family had stocked up are running low. They use these for when someone forgets to bring them a meal, or when no one is taking them a meal. I thought some of you might want to meet this need for them. I know that they would be grateful.

Hi, thank each of you for praying and praising God with us for all of the
Thrailkill's needs, prayer requests and healing. We truly continue to
believe God for a COMPLETE miracle; but for now Graceyn's therapy continues
for teaching her ways to get around and how to do things while she is still
paralyzed.

It is so amazing how much she has learned to do from Kennedy Krieger in
Baltimore, MD. We have videos of her walking with her special braces that
have electrodes in them to stimulate her legs to move; videos of her making
muffins with a friend God has provided for her; a video of her having a
water fight with other children her age from the hospital, and several other
things.

It is so sweet that God has brought a little girl named Rachel who is 4
years old also. She has the same injury as Graceyn and uses all the same
equipment Graceyn does. She could use your prayers because she is not
handling her injuries as well as Graceyn. It has been difficult for the
therapists to get her to do therapy. She doesn't want to do anything....but
God has been using Graceyn to encourage her.

NEEDS:
*Holly needs someone to be able to come help clean & dust her house before
Saturday when Lane gets home with Graceyn.
**One toilet is clogged and we (Holly and Tina) can't seem to get it to
unclog. Can any of you guys help with this? We really need this fixed before
Friday.
***We need a gentleman to pick Lane and Graceyn up in their van (or yours if
that is more comfortable for you) Saturday, August 9th from the Sanderson
Farms' place in Laurel, MS. This is a 2 hour drive from the Jackson area.
Right now we are unsure of the time they arrive but will prayerfully know
sometime Wednesday and will post that as soon as we have it.
*We need to know who would be willing to provide supper meals for them
starting Saturday, the 9th and run through the following Sunday, the 17th.
Remember if you can provide a meal but cannot deliver it, Tina Conerly will
be more than happy to deliver it for you. Her number is 601-992-6181.

Please pray for Lane and Graceyn to have a safe trip home.

God is working in such amazing ways. Thank you for being a part of those
ways by praying, providing meals, all of your financial help and so much
more. You will not know how big a blessing all of this is and has been to us
this side of Heaven!

Miracle for Graceyn

Hey faithful readers.... I'm out of town but was checking my email and I got a video from Tina Conerly that showed Graceyn WALKING with braces!!! Praise the Lord... He is faithful!

As soon as I get home I'll attempt to post the video that Tina Conerly sent me and a few pictures of the car crash that she gave me as well. I CAN'T WAIT for you to see it (the video- the pictures are interesting and definitely show the extreme nature of what Holly and Graceyn went through in that crash). Definitely brought tears to my eyes... what a MIGHTY God we serve.

Graceyn has been at Shriner's hospital in PA since the 15th doing therapy with her new braces which were specially made for her. She is able to walk with them using a walker. They have also taught her how to swim without floaties and she is thrilled about this. She is using her upper body and arms to do all the swimming, as for now, she is still paralyzed. Holly has pictures on her phone we would love to give to the church for Wednesday night prayer. We just want you all to see God's faithfulness in answering all prayers being lifted up on her behalf.

Graceyn and Lane (daddy) left PA Friday, the 25th, traveling to Kennedy Krieger hospital in Baltimore, Maryland which is said to be the best in the world for spinal cord injuries. Monday, the 28th, they got settled in at the hospital, after many tests and evaluations, Lane received some disappointing news. They say Graceyn's injuries are complete and agree with Shriner's that she has only a 5 percent chance of regaining anything. They said Lane and Holly are doing all they can at this point to help their baby girl.

A few weeks ago, Lane spoke with a man there, in Maryland, who was paralyzed and they used umbilical cord blood to help him walk again. Since we received that info, we were sadly informed that his procedure didn't take place at Kennedy Krieger but they still think they can help Graceyn. Doctors say it will be 3 - 4 years before this technology is available in the US and reaches the point that they can use umbilical cord blood to heal her injuries enabling her to fully recover and walk again.

While at Shriner's hospital, she was going through difficult physical therapy which involved moving her whole body with just her arms. At one point she had a huge meltdown, refusing to take another step....but God in His faithfulness carried her through. We think this was beneficial because she finally let out emotions pent up inside since the wreck. Now, instead of the 2 hour physical therapy work outs, she is undergoing more intense PT involving 5 hours of hard work. They say this intense, aggressive PT along with the special bike she uses for her legs is the only things they have had success with involving injuries like Graceyn has.

The doctors are conducting a bone density test to determine if Graceyn's bones have already become brittle. (This is a common problem with patients having such spinal cord injuries.) Lane and Holly may be facing a difficult decision due to the outcome of the tests. If her bones are becoming brittle the only option would be to use an experimental drug which has unknown side effects and the long term effects are also unknown. They just discovered some concern with her hips today which would cause her to need to wear more special braces while in her wheelchair and at night when she is sleeping. She hates anything mashing or putting pressure on her tummy. This is a huge prayer need.

An interesting fact that was also discovered is her spinal cord was not bent/snapped but instead was stretched up at impact.

Pray for Lane as it is so hard to be away from his wife and other girls and as he tries to encourage Graceyn in all that is going on. He is really feeling isolated and discouraged....and even feels alone. The pressures of the whole trip and their basic needs, being so far away from home without family or church support are taking a toll on him. Thank you for undergirding him in prayer for supernatural strength, comfort and wisdom to get through these last couple of weeks.

This family cannot thank you enough for your constant and faithful prayers, and all else you have done and are doing to help in this season of their lives! They pray God's richest blessing upon each of you!

Please be praying for Lane and Graceyn as they travel Tuesday, July 15th to PA. There, they will get Graceyn's braces, be shown how to put them on and use them. From there, they will fly to Maryland to Kennedy Krieger Hospital which is said to be the best in the world for spinal cord injuries. They believe they can help Graceyn recover and walk again.

There is a man Lane talked to a week or so ago who had a severe spinal cord injury, was paralyzed and the hospital used umbilical cord blood (NOT unborn baby's); they injected it into the injured area on his spine and he now WALKS!!!! God is so good!

Holly, Laurel, and Maddie will be staying with me until Lane returns for their safety, his peace of mind and to help with her therapy and the girls. Thank you so much for all of your prayers, love and support to this family in Christ!

Our job is to Believe

I love Wednesday night church and I love our Pastor, Brother David Jett. This past Wednesday night he preached a sermon that revolutionized my way of thinking about healing. Here's the statement that stopped me cold (paraphrasing because I can't remember exactly): "We believe that Jesus can forgive our sins and and save us, but we don't believe that He can heal us". Jesus addressed this issue of belief in the 9th book of Matthew:

1Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town. 2Some men brought to him a paralytic, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, "Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven."

3At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, "This fellow is blaspheming!"

4Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, "Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? 5Which is easier: to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up and walk'? 6But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins...." Then he said to the paralytic, "Get up, take your mat and go home." 7And the man got up and went home. 8When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to men.

As the service came to a close, the Pastor asked Holly and Graceyn to come down to the altar. Many church members came together believing and asking for healing for them. Brother David reminded us that we pray for God's Kingdom here on Earth, because in His Kingdom, there is no sickness, no wheelchairs, no death.

I sat in my seat, thinking, "Really God? Can you really do this? Okay, I know that you CAN do this, but WILL you?"

God reminded me of a passage in scripture that I've always had a hard time understanding, but recently had some light shown on it in Mark 8:

22They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. 23He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man's eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, "Do you see anything?"

24He looked up and said, "I see people; they look like trees walking around."

25Once more Jesus put his hands on the man's eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.

Why did it take more than one time for Jesus to heal the man? Why wasn't it instantaneous? Jesus was trying to show His disciples that sometimes it's a process. God will be glorified in all that He does. So sometimes if His answer doesn't come quickly, even when we're desperate, we know that God's doing a work in us. He's not just taking His time for the sake of making us wait. Our lives are like a big tapestry, on the one side it's beautiful (how God sees it all) on the other side, it looks all crazy and jacked up (how we see it all). God's making us beautiful.

Another reason healing or answers don't always come quickly is from another passage in scripture, found in Daniel 10 :

1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia, a revelation was given to Daniel (who was called Belteshazzar). Its message was true and it concerned a great war. The understanding of the message came to him in a vision.

2 At that time I, Daniel, mourned for three weeks. 3 I ate no choice food; no meat or wine touched my lips; and I used no lotions at all until the three weeks were over.

4 On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was standing on the bank of the great river, the Tigris, 5 I looked up and there before me was a man dressed in linen, with a belt of the finest gold around his waist. 6 His body was like chrysolite, his face like lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and his voice like the sound of a multitude.

7 I, Daniel, was the only one who saw the vision; the men with me did not see it, but such terror overwhelmed them that they fled and hid themselves. 8 So I was left alone, gazing at this great vision; I had no strength left, my face turned deathly pale and I was helpless. 9 Then I heard him speaking, and as I listened to him, I fell into a deep sleep, my face to the ground.

10 A hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees. 11 He said, "Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent to you." And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling.

12 Then he continued, "Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. 13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. 14 Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come."

Daniel was desperate and crying out on behalf of his people after God had given him a vision about their fate. He had humbled himself to God by praying and fasting and yet he had not received an answer. Brother David taught us in an earlier sermon that sometimes our prayers are intercepted by the enemy (in this verse, the "Persian kingdom" aka Satan and his crew). It took 21 days for this angel and another angel, Michael, to fight off the attack from "the king of Persia". And although God is all-powerful and all-mighty, and he could have totally destroyed the enemy at any time and will destroy the enemy.... how much more was he glorified through Daniel's prayer, fasting, and finally, meeting with an angel of the Lord who would answer David's prayer?

I leave you with a final thought: "It's our job to believe in God. It's His job to work the miracle".

*PRAISE: Lane is off at least long enough to take Graceyn to PA. They leave July 15th and will be in PA until the 25th of July.

*PRAISE: Krueger Kennedy Hospital in Maryland wants Graceyn to come there immediately following her stay at Shriner's after receiving her braces and being shown how to use them. This is the BEST hospital for her injuries in the nation! They aren't saying they want to help her know how to function in life from a wheelchair, they want to rehabilitate her to live her life aside from the wheelchair; to walk on her own. They are very optimistic about being able to further help Graceyn.

*This is a huge prayer request, going to Maryland, because they have been told it is VERY pricey. At this point they do not know if insurance will pay. What is our God's Name? Jehovah Jireh is one, isn't it? I truly believe He will provide...after all He didn't bring them this far to drop them now, did He? His word says, "Ask and you will receive...." not you might or I will think about it, but "You will"....Glory to God Almighty!!!

*PRAISE: Lane's insurance covered Graceyn's "stander" machine for her bone therapy with her legs. They have already received it at their home. She is so excited about it and wants to use it all the time. This is an answered prayer because not long ago she didn't want to have to use any of these things.

*PRAISE: God has truly changed Graceyn's outlook on life. She was so upset about "never walking again" and didn't want to use anything that she needed to....chest brace, leg braces, wheel chair, etc. God has blessed this precious child with a new outlook...she now talks of "when I can walk again, I want to do this" or "when God heals me, I will do this". All it takes is a mustard seed of faith to move mountains, amen? When we start believing God can, I think we can step back, watch and see Him move in mighty ways, amen?

*PRAISE: The family has been able to come to church some, tonight was one of those times. For those who may have missed it, when it was time to put prayers and praises in the baskets.....Holly walked to them and back for the first time!!!! Wahooo! Praise His Name!!!!

*PRAY: Soon they will all start counseling to deal with the aftermath. Thank you for your continued prayers, thoughts, concern and Christ-like love!!!!! This is what the Body of Christ is all about.....Loving and serving one another just as Christ himself did and gave Himself up for the church.

Email from Tina Conerly regarding Praises and Prayers

Praises:

*Hands of Hope for Crossgates Baptist church concreted 1/2 of the Thrailkill's driveway at no charge at all; allowing easy wheelchair accessibility for Holly and Graceyn into their home.

*Last Monday, they received word that the full amount, $15,000.00 for the bike therapy machine Graceyn needed had been anonymously donated by an insurance company, not their own nor one they knew of, so is now paid in full. Just 4 weeks prior, Lane received a call from the medical supply company that the machine was NOT covered by their insurance. In faith, he replied, "Order the machine anyway. Her doctor says she needs it; I don't know how we will pay for it, but God WILL provide." Praise Jesus, He provided, amen!?!

*The owner of the above mentioned insurance company donated an extra $3,500.00 of his own money for any other needs.

*People continue to give of themselves and their time and take meals daily to the Thrailkill family. This is an indescribable blessing, as it not only saves $ for them, but also time that Lane needs to care for his family. He has so much on him not just physically, but financially, emotionally and spiritually as well.

*Thursday he was told that Shiloh Methodist Church was going to finish concreting the rest of the driveway, this may be at no charge to them. What a Mighty God we serve!!!!! He owns the cattle on a thousand hills....He will supply your need.....what should we do? Trust Him to do it! Hallelujah!

Prayer Requests:

*There is a therapy machine for Graceyn's legs called a "stander". This machine exercises and strengthens her bones, whereas the bike machine exercises and strengthens her muscles. This machine has also been denied coverage by their insurance, it isn't nearly as pricey as the other but still expensive enough to need prayer for God to provide financial assistance to purchase it. This along with the other are machines she will use daily to keep her legs, muscles and bones healthy until God heals her completely.

*Pray for Holly as she is going to need more surgery on her right leg. They cannot get it past bending at 60 degrees and what they have done has moved her kneecap. It is not centered as it should be. She has an appointment with her doctors Thursday (19th) to access all her needs and talk about scheduling surgery for any repairs needed and to bend it while under sedation.

*Please also pray as counseling is being scheduled to deal with the wreck, etc. The whole family will go through the therapy.

More Prayer Requests....

These are copied from an email I got from Tina Conerly.....

*Pray God would provide the way for Holly and the other 2 girls to go with Lane and Graceyn when they return to PA. If unable to go, I am working on day-sitters to help Holly while he takes her. She really needs someone to be with her at this point.

*Pray for healing from the trauma from all of this for the whole family. Graceyn needs them so much, but Maddie, Laurel and parents do as well.

Again, I will have more info and an update on prayer needs tomorrow, but this is what I have now. Oh, there is one other machine called a "stander" which would work/exercise Graceyn's bones they are needing to purchase. Again, this one is not covered by their insurance but the doctors feel she needs it to remain healthy, strong, etc. More info on that to come.

Prayer Request for Lane

I spoke with Tina Conerly tonight, and she shared with me a prayer request.
Lane is scheduled to go back to work within a few weeks (maybe even less- I'm not entirely sure). As you know, Graceyn will need to go back to PA soon- and that won't be possible if Lane goes back to work so soon. He will be asking his boss for 3 more months at home. Let's pray that God's favor will be on Lane, and that his boss will see this request as a legitimate need.

What did I tell ya.... He's a BIG GOD!!!!

On an earlier post I mentioned that Graceyn needed a bike that cost $15,000. Lane went ahead and ordered the bike, trusting that God would provide. Would you believe that God did- and $3,500 extra too (see my earlier post on how abundant God is)! How awesome is that?
My God truly never ceases to amaze me with how much He loves us! I often write about needs for the family with doubts in my mind about exactly how God will meet those needs. I am sooo thankful that my "human-ness" doesn't get in the way of God's perfect will~ He will complete the work that He started.

GOOD NEWS

I got to see the whole family at church last night- Lane, Holly, Maddie, and Graceyn (I think Laurel must have already gone upstairs). They all looked wonderful! We were praising God that they were there and so excited to see sweet Graceyn. I had been praying that they would be able to come to church soon- and as you know, God answers prayer!

Boldly approaching Our Father's Throne

Sorry I haven't posted in a while- there haven't been any new updates from Tina so I was kind of neglecting this blog. But, God spoke to me in that still, quiet way that He has and reminded me of a few things that I'd like to share with you.

1) God is a BIG God. And He can do over and abundantly what we ask of Him. He's just waiting. How do I know? Think about the story that we've heard tons of times in Matthew 14:13. Jesus fed 5,000 people with 2 loaves and 5 fish. Now, the story doesn't end there for me. It's amazing enough that He fed them all with that small amount of food- but look at what He did at the end:

20They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over.

Why was there even food left over? I always think God will give me just enough to get by. NO WAY- He's a BIG, ABUNDANT GOD and He desires to give us way more than we ask for, even better than we ask for. Let's ask Him for big things for ourselves- and the Thrailkill's today.

Click on the link for archived sermons and choose the one for June 1st. Anyway, Bro. David taught us about love from the Father. He shared that God desires for us to approach him like little children- and call him "Daddy" or "Abba Father". This is true because Jesus approached God the same way, and he told us to pray in the same way:
9"This, then, is how you should pray:
" 'Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10your kingdom come,
your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
11Give us today our daily bread.
12Forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.^[a]' 14For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Jesus was telling us to BOLDLY approach his throne and to ask God for things with the mindset that we are His children. He loves us in the same way that we love our children or our parents love us. Amazing to think about, right?

So as we ask Him for that big thing today, remember, He wants to give us good things. He wants what's best for us.... just like we want what's best for our children and our parents wanted what was best for us. Ask Him today like He's Your Daddy. Let's ask on behalf of the Thrailkills for complete healing, peace, provision, and rest.

I'll give you an update as soon as I know something! Thanks for letting me take you on a little journey of what I've learned lately.

Updates Today.....

Holly had her stitches out today and had no pain. They will check her progress in six weeks to determine if they need to put her to sleep to bend her right leg. She is going to be working with her PT in the mean time, so the doctor will look at her range of motion at the next appointment. The doctor also said her right knee and leg were in awesome shape compared to her last visit and surgery. She has been walking using a walker more than 50 feet with her PT- awesome progress!

Hands of Hope at Crossgates Baptist Church will continue to be and have already been working on the Thrailkill home on several of the needs expressed in the last post. PRAISE GOD that this need has already been met!

God has clearly told Lane that Graceyn WILL be healed, so we need to continue our prayers.... despite what doctors and PT's say. HE has the last WORD, amen?
The specialized bicycle has been ordered for her (the one that cost $15,000), Lane is trusting God to provide. Graceyn will be returning home on the 17th, but will return for a two week stay (in PA) after she gets her new braces. These braces will help her learn how to use her legs.

God is SO GOOD, all the time! Thanks to all of you who are praying.... you may never know what YOUR prayers are doing. Small= Big sometimes in God's economy!

Their house is in a dire need of painting, caulking and a few rotted boards replaced. Would any of you be willing to lend some labor or know of someone who could. Please be in prayer for our church to step up to this.
Right as I walked in Holly was hanging up with a call from one of Graceyn’s therapists who was telling Holly about this new chair that Graceyn HAD to have to help her leg musles from atrophying. The cost of the chair is $15,000 and insurance will not pay a dime. Holly looked at me with the most despair in her eyes and said, “How could we get $15,000?” To make matters worse Holly asked if this chair would help Graceyn walk and the therapist told her, “Holly, Graceyn is not going to walk again.” Please pray first and foremost for complete healing in Graceyn’s body and that she will through the power of Jesus, walk again. Secondly, please pray for the funds to come in to cover the cost of the chair that she will need almost immediately.
They need a new vehicle. The drunk driver had poor insurance and since the three in the vehicle with the drunk driver were hurt, they have rights to the insurance money also and so it will have to split among them as well. At best, Holly’s van will be paid off. This still leaves them in the great need for another vehicle. Please pray for this need to be met.

Great News and a Request

Holly took her first steps on Friday! She admits that she was scared to death- but, she had her husband and PT right there to support her.
Graceyn has also taken steps, but has yet to feel anything. The PTs are teaching her to use her upper body to move her legs. She will come home this Friday, but will return to PA to learn how to put on and use her new braces. These braces will teach her how to walk! AMEN! PRAISE JESUS!

Lane asks for prayer. Insurance does not cover an additional machine that Graceyn needs. This machine will velcro to her upper body and support her upper body while she exercises to move her lower body. It's miraculous what she can do.... even though she can't feel her legs! Thanks be to You Jesus, what we can't even conceive of, YOU can DO!

I am an author of this blog- but mostly I just pass on information that I hear from others. But God has laid it on my heart to add some other folks along with the Thrailkills who need our prayers-

1) The extended family and their friends who are caring for Lane, Holly, and the girls. They have their own lives but have sacrificially stepped in to take care of the Thrailkills. Pray for comfort, strength, energy, and especially words to speak comfort, life, and hope to Lane, Holly, and the girls. Pray that God fills in the gaps for them, when things at their own homes may not get taken care of. Pray that God blesses them for their service. Pray that they feel renewed each day and filled with God's Holy Spirit.

2) Pray that God would be glorified in all of this. That each doctor, nurse, orderly, whoever comes in contact with this precious family would see Christ. That they would come away believing without a doubt that there IS a God and He is alive and working!

3) Pray for the woman and two men that hit Holly and Graceyn. Pray that they would come to see a need in their life for salvation and would seek God with their whole heart. Pray that they would see their alcohol addiction as this huge chain dragging them down to their death- and that the only way to break free would be to ask Jesus into their lives. Pray that God would radically change, save, and redeem them.... even though they don't deserve it. None of us do.

I know that the last one is hard. It was hard for me to write. But I do write it unapologetically. Jesus said in his Word:

In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can't get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God's part.

Holly stood on her legs for the first time yesterday and there were tears of joy streaming down everyone's face. How could we do anything but loudly shout the praises of God Almighty?!? The doctors thought originally it would be 3-4 months before she could so this and it was only 5 1/2 weeks from the accident and she stood! Glory to God.....how awesome is He! She has also been able to shower 2 times now. She is doing great with her physical therapy and will be going to get another knee brace tomorrow. She still has alot of pain with therapy but the medicine they switched her to is helping a lot better than what they had her on previously.

Pray for Lane as he is trying to "light a fire" under the doctors' feet in PA to get them going on Graceyn's care. It started off quite well but they haven't done much of anything in the last couple of days. There has been a benefit account set up in Graceyn Thrailkill's name at Regions Bank. If you would like to donate money to her account just go to any branch to make a deposit. Thank you in advance for you generosity!

Lane and Holly are ready for anyone who wants to help with cleaning or laundry. The days best for them are Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Well, did you know we serve a MIGHTY God? He is so awesome! He is ALWAYS in control and ALWAYS faithful. I am so excited by all He is doing.

Holly:

Her appointment Thursday went very well. The doctor said she can now, ALREADY put weight on her legs. In the beginning, they thought it would be 3-4 months before she could do this. Glory to God on High! Her right leg, with the knee that isn't healed enough to bend, is in a brace to keep it lined up while healing and she has to be very careful with it.

She WILL have to have another operation on her right leg due to her muscles calcifying and turning to bone. She still cannot bend it. The surgery will be to break down the 'muscles-turned-to-bone' into muscles again. They say this won't take place for 3-4 months. in order for the knee to completely heal.

They removed her splints from her feet and the pin from her left foot; not only did she NOT feel any pain when they pulled it out but she didn't know they had done it. It was out and over while she still had her eyes closed waiting for it to happen. God is so awesome! They said her feet look good and they are not so worried anymore about her having a limp when she walked. Her left foot had a bad drop to it before the splints were left on her feet.

She is doing wonderfully with her left leg, bending it up to a 96-98 degree angle. Within 2 weeks they want her to be able to bend it to 113 - 120 degree angle. She is now able to get from the bed to her wheelchair and back all on her own! She is so tickled, she was glowing! Praising the Lord for the swiftness of the healing thus far. (Women you will appreciate this: she is tickled that she can now shave her legs.)

They did change her pain meds to something stronger that helps much better when the Physical therapist is working with her. Doctors have said the horrible pain she feels during therapy has to be endured in order for her to heal and get past it.

Graceyn:

She is feeling alot better and no longer sick at tummy from the antibiotic. Her kidney infection is healing. Urology was testing and accessing her kidney function Thursday to determine how well it is functioning and if she needs to be on a bladder program.

They are fitting her for leg braces to teach her to walk!!!!!!! Wa-whoooo!!!!!! God is exalted, praise His awesomeness! He is our great Provider, our Healer, our EVERYTHING! She is having to be fitted for a chest brace and I am unsure how long she has to wear this at this point but they are doing it to keep her back from developing Scoliosis.

She is doing lots of major physical therapy and one of the things she is doing is exercises in a pool of water. I have 2 dreams to share with you which are from the Lord Almighty.

BEFORE we knew any of her planned treatment for therapy, Dr. Davis Manning had a dream on Tuesday that Graceyn was in a pool of water, walking back and forth across the pool. Prophetic dream! God is going to heal this precious little girl completely, amen?

Then Wednesday, her sister, Maddie, had a dream that Graceyn had come home and was walking. We were all so tickled over these dreams and remembered the verse in the Bible where it says, "...and your sons and daughters will dream dreams.....". I truly believe this two dreams are prophetic dreams, reminding us that God IS in control and very much at work in Graceyn's body!

Well, I will hush for now and let you know when I have another report. I pray each of you are well, safe and have a blessed weekend with your families and in the house of the Lord.

Graceyn:

*Praise the Lord, she got to Shriner's hospital in PA safely Tuesday around 2:30 p.m. and is in great care there!

***Urgent prayer request for her: She has a kidney infection and has been put on Biaxin (same medication that made Holly so sick). Graceyn is extremely sick at her tummy but the doctors feel it is necessary to stay on this antibiotic to heal her infection. Due to her being so sick today, they were unable to do much at all with her therapy.

*The doctors there are going over her medical records from UMC and their Neurologist has already run lots of X-Rays to see for themselves what is going on in her precious body. Once they have gotten all test results and poured over her UMC records, they will have a game plan.

They are having Urology check her bladder functions to see if they are normal or hindered in some way due to the paralysis. She may not even need the catheter, UMC didn't have the capabilities to check her bladder in depth as it should have been. They will be putting her on a bladder program to help as her needs are revealed.

*They have an amazing team of Physical Therapists and are doing a very extensive physical therapy routine with her. She can get on a motorized, stationary bicycle and that they strap her legs in. As the bike goes, it is actually moving and using her own muscles to keep them built up and strong for when she walks again. They won't know this for sure until all test results have been studied, but they even have braces they can put on her legs in hopes of teaching her to walk again.

They also will be doing water therapy and working with her legs in the water. I have heard great things on this therapy. I am so excited for all of this and more because our God is faithful and He is going to heal her. Thank you for your prayers, love and concern.

**There soon will be a special account set up in Graceyn's name at Regions Bank if you would like to donate to her fund. When I have that account name and info, I will post it. There were people out of state who received prayer requests for them and want to help so Regions contacted Lane and asked if they could set up an account for them. Isn't God so good?!?

Holly:

She looked wonderful today, her face was glowing as if God's Sonshine was resting upon her. She is doing great with her leg therapy machine and exercises. However, she is in excruciating pain even though she is on pain meds while the therapist is working with her. Please continue to pray for that and for complete healing from the last surgery Friday. Pray for no complications and infections. She goes to the doctor tomorrow afternoon for her post-surgery follow-up and to have her stitches removed. When I have the update form that appointment, I will post it.

At CVS today I noticed they are raffling off three items to raise money for the Thrailkill's. One is a cool Sunkist Bike, a Mother's Day Basket... and the 3rd I'm sure is something equally cool but I can't for the life of me remember what it is :) Anyway, I did remember that tickets are 2 for $25. If you get a chance go by there and check it out!

Well, I have good news and bad news but God can handle both!

The leg they were concerned infection had set in, had not, but it WAS a bad hematoma which they have given her some strong antibiotics for. They cleaned this right knee out, stitched it up and will remove those stitches next Thursday. They were able to work her left leg with the worse femur break up to a bend of 130 degrees. (If her femur had not been so damaged they said she could have put weight on it now, which sounded encouraging to me) They had to put both of her feet in splints, set at an angle of 20 degrees more toward her body as it is the degree her feet would flex to in walking. She has not been able to move it in as far as they thought she should at this point and were very concerned about her left foot. To keep her from having a limp when she walks again, they had to do this. Don't know right now how long it has to stay at this position but it is very uncomfortable. Please pray hard for this.

The bad news, God can handle, is Holly will have to have another surgery on her right leg when the time comes that she can finally move her knee. While watching it on X-Ray during the movement exercises, they noticed her knee was trying to move out of place, if they had continued, it would have broken apart, again. Thus the need for a later surgery to help her move it as it is tightening and calcifying; that right knee just has to heal longer and she cannot bend it right now.

She is home now, praise the Lord. Continue to pray against pain and for them as they prepare to see Graceyn off on Tuesday morning. The jet will fly out of Laurel with Graceyn, Mike and Rhonda Parker at 10:00 a.m.

When I have any other info, I will pass it along. Thanks for all you are praying and doing for this precious family of God's.

Urgent Prayer Needed

Holly is going into surgery for something that should not be happening but due to negligence and unreturned phone calls (over a 2 week period) to set up proper follow up care from her doctors and their nurses - stitches that were due to be taken out 2 weeks ago were painfully cut out today. They did NOT numb it, they used a scalpel and cut the skin which had grown over the stitches. She cried as she explained it to me and all I could do was gently lay over her and pray, pray and pray some more. Her other knee, since no proper follow up care was given, is being operated on later this morning at 8:00 a.m. at UMC. When she would try to use her physical therapy machine the stitches would cause her knee to bleed as it 'tore' her skin. This knee is believed to be infected now and they will be cleaning it out and PRAYERFULLY closing it up again. Also, they will be putting her legs through rigorous movements while she is still sedated due to her bones are healing quicker than her muscles can be used and her muscles are turning into bone. To try to stop this, they will be exercising her legs for her during sedation. Please pray against the pain. It has been explained to me by a dear friend who had 15 bone surgeries herself, the pain is indescribable.
***Holly requests prayer that they will in fact be able to get her home by tomorrow afternoon or early evening, as stated by doctors, so she can spend as much time with Graceyn before she leaves on Tuesday, April 29th.

***Holly is very sad about not being able to go with her baby. They told Graceyn this morning and she is very scared. Scared of needles, shots, surgeries, etc. She needs to be covered in prayer and please pray against negative words. Our words are so very powerful, I am still learning just how powerful, truth is truth but GOD is I AM and He alone has the LAST Word. Amen?!?

***In all of this I am sure God has laid it on your hearts to pray for the family but may I ask, pray for Maddie (6) and Laurel (8), their lives have been turned upside down. Having both Mom and Graceyn home have been a much needed blessing. I am concerned for them as their little sissie has to leave. They hurt, too.

Updates, Praises, Prayers, and Needs

Graceyn is so cute laying in the bed with her mama. Tickled to be close to her, Holly grins from ear to ear. It has been such a tremendous blessing for her to be home. They need your prayers for the following:

* Holly and Lane need God to hold them up and keep them comforted and strong while Graceyn is probably leaving Tuesday, April 28th, to fly to the Shriner's Hospital in Philadelphia, PA with her grandparents, Mike and Rhonda Parker. It is harder than my feeble words can convey for them to watch her leave and know they cannot go or see her for 4 weeks. God is their Jehovah Shalom!

* Big prayer need - pray the jet that has been offered to take Graceyn straight from our airport to the one in PA will be available on the day she needs to travel. The person who has graciously offered or agreed to fly her has certain days he is able to do this, please pray Jehovah Jireh provides...."Where two or three agree about what that ask, it WILL be done by my Father in Heaven".

* Continue to pray spiritual, financial, emotional, and physical provisions for this precious family. They are all needing these prayers. Names are Lane, Holly, Graceyn, Maddie, and Laurel.

***HUGE PRAISE: ALL of Graceyn's medical bills are completely covered for her Pennsylvania hospital stay!!!!! And Daddy says she is still moving her legs! Glory to God! He is our Provider! Man, He is so Good!!! (& Faithful!!!)

Holly needs 2 - 3 cotton (Soft) dress found at Target. They are a certain kind that she can still move in for her therapy. Short sleeve and has maybe a few buttons at the top in front. If anyone can help in this area, it would be greatly appreciated.

Praise and Prayer Needed

Hallelujah! Praise the Lamb of God! Graceyn is going home Friday. She will be home only for a week before heading to Philadelphia, PA. She will be at the Shriner's Hospital for Children for 4 weeks. They specialize in spinal cord injuries. She is getting around quite well but at present, still paralyzed....God is working, though, so keep praying and praising God for that miracle. He will provide!

It is looking like Holly will not be able to go and Lane feels Holly needs him to be here with her because of the shape she is in.... he is torn but doesn't know what else to do. Holly trusts him and he knows how to help her move when she needs to without hurting her legs. The plan right now is that her grandparents, Mike and Rhonda Parker, take her to PA.

Holly has been in a great deal of pain today with her left knee cap (this is the leg that had the worse damage). She is very down about not being able to go with Graceyn. She will need extra prayers during the weeks Graceyn is gone for strength and peace while having to be separated. They had hoped insurance would cover her being able to do her therapy and rehabilitation at the Temple University Hospital which is joined to the children's hospital, but it doesn't look like their insurance will cover it.

Praise the Lord, Holly came home from the hospital on Thursday. Here are some specific prayer requests from her:

*Pray against blood clots forming and going to her lungs, heart or brain. She is very susceptible to getting blood clots with her legs in the shape they are in and not being able to get up and move around. She is very concerned about this occurring.

*Pray for God to provide the money needed to pay for the machine she has to use for her legs with her physical therapist. Their insurance told them it is NOT covered on their insurance and it is $30.00 per day. God Will Provide!!

*Pray for the emotional hardship of having to be away from Graceyn who is in the hospital for 10 more days. It was very hard for both Lane and Holly on Thursday to leave her at the hospital

*Pray for wisdom and guidance as Lane is talking to some people and checking options for Graceyn to go to a hospital in Pennsylvania that specializes in spinal injuries. Also, pray that their insurance would cover this.

*Pray for both Holly and Graceyn as they recover and go through therapy. Holly said she knows it has to hurt to get better and heal and is very concerned about that as well.

*Pray for Lane and grandparents as they care for these loved ones. They are so tired but encouraged by all of you who are ministering in various ways and especially your prayers.

*Pray for Graceyn as she is still having to be catheterized every 6 hours and will do so until God heals her from the paralysis.
